Update to prevent new 'suggested posts'

About: Facebook unsponsored
I think adding the following entry:

'div ._m8d',

to the sponsoredSelectors array prevents the display of the 'suggested posts'.

  • This had stopped working because for me too.

    I added the following code as line 18
    'a[href^="https://l.facebook.com/"]',

    so that the code now reads

    var sponsoredSelectors = [
    'a[href^="https://www.facebook.com/about/ads"]',
    'a[href^="https://www.facebook.com/ads/about"]',
    'a[href^="/about/ads"]',
    'a[href^="https://l.facebook.com/"]',
    'a[href^="/ads/about"]'
    ];

    this now removes the sponsored posts BUT I do not know yet what else, if anything (worthwhile), it removes. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!
  • it worked for me, thanks!

    Where exactly on the sponsored selectors are you supposed to put this? I tried the other suggestion in this thread but I'm still getting ads
  • try to add this, should select only sponsored storys:
    'a[href*="hc_ref=ADS"]'

    No, I'm afraid that didn't work for me, though I'm not sure if I put it in the right place
  • Post your array sponsoredSelectors
  • It works pretty good!

    Post your array sponsoredSelectors

    Right now it looks like this:

    var sponsoredSelectors = [
    'a[href^="https://www.facebook.com/about/ads"]',
    'a[href^="https://www.facebook.com/ads/about"]',
    'a[href^="/about/ads"]',
    'a[href^="https://i.facebook.com/"]'
    'a[href*="hc_ref=ADS"]'
    'a[href^="/ads/about"]'
    ];

    You need to put commas at the end of the lines to separate the values. Only last value works without comma.

    Ah, thanks! That fixed almost the entire problem, although I'm still getting the occasional suggested "game", but no more suggested "posts"

    Edit: Nevermind, still getting ads.
  • Hi everyone. Truly sorry for the neglect, life gets in the way sometimes.

    I wouldn't suggest using 'div ._m8d', as these are often auto-generated, minified class names and not only are they subject to change but may be unique to each individual user.
