Did you activate the data-acquire button first? You need to activate it before you can sort.
Look the image below. The corner buttons on the right. The top circular button is the auto-pager button which turns red when on, and the second circular button is the auto-data-acquire which turns green when it is on.
The other arrow buttons are a one of pager and data-acquire. Once images data is acquired you should be able to sort and filter accordingly.
To filter you need to make sure the "Filter Options" button is on. It turns green.

Nothing happens when I try to sort by any bookmarks/views/rating/total filter.
