Unable to register accounts - China only?
Google.com is unreachable in china, so is Google recaptcha

On register page, the verification code is not displayed directly. After we click the sign up button, it says the recaptcha verification failed.
OK, the reports say that the failure is about not having a user name, and I assume that's what the error message on the top is complaining about. Not sure what that would happen in this case, but if the recaptcha is failing I will have to look into alternatives.
Yes, I initially wanted to register by mail, but failed, so I had to log in with GitHub's account.
I have fixed the issue where it loses the username when you "fail" the recaptcha. Still looking into a fallback/alternative for when the recaptcha is not loadable.

Try recaptcha.net? It's offical and accessible from China

Even if I load the JS from recaptcha.net, it references a script on gstatic.com, which in turn references https://www.google.com/recaptcha/.

recaptcha.net will load different JS in different area, like https://www.gstatic.cn/recaptcha/api2/v1522045847408/recaptcha_zhcn.js in China
Alright, I'll stop being a naysayer. I've switched it to use recaptcha.net. If it didn't work for anyone before, please try now.

FYI, I've just closed the proxy, test to register an account using direct connection from china, success! -ttpehg

Unable to register accounts - China only?
Had a couple reports of Chinese users being unable to create an account. Can anyone Chinese/in China see if they can reproduce it?
