About

Did you ever left the page where you were writing some larger text? Like you're writing a new blog-entry and accidentally click on your favourites or alt+left-arrow?

Then you will enjoy Addons like Lazarus or History Form Control that save the content automatically and with a few clicks you can restore any text you like, even after a pc-crash.

Many forums use div elements instead of oldfashioned multiline input fields, though. This is thanks to the contenteditable attribute and is perfect for WYSIWYG editors.

However, Addons like Lazarus and History Form Control fail to recognize them as inputs, so text will be lost on accidents again.

This script jumps in and works only on div-elements as used in many popular forum-software (e.g. deviantart.com, WoltLab etc.) nowadays. It saves the text while you write and can restore it with a simple click should you accidentally delete it.

Manual

When you click into a div-field which is supported, the script will add a little blue mark at the left-bottom-corner of the field. A left-click will de-/activate logging the text. A right-click will restore old text. hovering will display any saved text for this icon. Alternatively you can use ctrl+shift+alt+d to de-/activate and ctrl+shift+alt+s to restore text. When logging is active, the mark will change red and you get a red border around your input-field.
