Original script by iamunknown2 can be found here. It's a simple script to search through all links and replace Rickrolls with the text "(removed Rickroll)" and link to #. This version has been fixed by me (whatismyusername) and it now works.

Caveats:

  • This only works with the official VEVO version on YouTube, not any reuploads or link shorteners
  • This replaces any and all HTML inside the link, including any images or content
  • In the unlikely circumstance that a random URL also contains the string "dQw4w9WgXcQ" this will block that
  • This will not block any Rickrolls added in Javascript after initial load
  • This will block the links on Google, YouTube, etc., if you actually want to find the video
