Wayne's Video Controller & Snapshot

Wayne's Video Controller & Snapshot is a powerful video enhancement tool designed for modern web browsers. It goes beyond default video player limitations by providing ultra-fine speed tuning, precise frame-by-frame navigation, and clean frame capture tools (copying to your clipboard or downloading directly).

Key Features

  • Speed Control: Adjust playback speed in configurable increments (default 0.25x), and reset back to normal instantly with a single click or keystroke.
  • Frame-by-Frame Navigation: Step forward or backward frame-by-frame when paused. Perfect for studying animation, tutorials, sports analysis, or finding the absolute perfect frame.
  • Video Snapshots:
    • Copy Frame: Copy the current video frame directly to your clipboard to paste into documents or chat apps without cluttering your downloads folder.
    • Save Frame: Save high-definition snapshots of the video stream in PNG or JPEG format.
    • Comes with a gorgeous preview modal to review your captured frame before saving.
  • Web Fullscreen Mode: Expand the video to cover the entire browser viewport (without going into native system fullscreen), making multitasking and side-by-side work easy.

Default Keyboard Shortcuts

  • + / -: Increase / Decrease Playback Speed
  • 0: Reset Playback Speed to 1.0x
  • 4 / 6: Rewind 5 Seconds / Forward 5 Seconds
  • 7 / 9: Rewind 30 Seconds / Forward 30 Seconds
  • / / *: Previous Frame / Next Frame
  • 5: Copy Current Frame to Clipboard
  • 3: Toggle Web Fullscreen Mode
  • 1: Show / Hide Control Overlay

How to Use

  1. Once the extension is active, visit any webpage containing an HTML5 video player (e.g., YouTube, Vimeo, Bilibili, Netflix, etc.).
  2. Hover your mouse cursor over the video player to display the floating glassmorphic control overlay.
  3. You can click and drag the handle icon on the far left of the panel to position it anywhere inside the video container.
  4. Interact using the buttons on the panel, or use the default hotkeys above to control the video effortlessly!
