Mystery of Update checks (not an issue)
Do you have another way to install your script other than clicking the green button on Greasy Fork?
No.
You mean, if someone directly linked to the script "file" from somewhere I don't know, then it can occur?

It has some links from outside of Greasy Fork, but they are normal links toward the script page as far as I know.
Someone has set his/her tampermonkey to check updates on every single load...?

Doing so would not count as an "install", but their updates would count as "updates", so yes.

The check will count unique IP addresses, so likely not.
Another possibility is that someone or something is requesting the .meta.js file for another reason (a crawler/scraper?), which would increase the updates count.
I see.
Because of it increasing gradually, the former reason is likely to be the cause.
This is one of my scripts.

Its daily update checks are increasing so much over than 60 compared with its current total installs as 43.
Yes, it's not large numbers, but normally the update checks are much lower than installs.
Quite interesting. This is not such a special script.
