Space-efficient Youtube

Uses the page space on youtube more efficiently
(especially good for high resolutions)

Especially on high-res monitors the default youtube container is ridiculously narrow, but even on 1080p using the script can mean more videos on screen and less space wasted.

- Option to hide the channel icons next to the videos on the home page from the settings.

NOTE: Due to a YT update to how the home page renders videos, changing the thumbnail width using the script's methods leaves a bunch of empty space, so I decided to disable that part of the script by default. Therefore the thumbnail sizes on the home page will be as determined by vanilla YT, unless you turn the option back on from the settings.

Available options are:

  • Fade++ Compatibility mode
  • Video container width: Separate settings for Home/Trending/Sub/Search pages (meaning how much space a single video+title takes on the page)
  • Video container height: Separate settings for Trending & Search pages i.e. thumbnail height (thumbnail width auto calculated to keep ratio)
  • Show/Hide channel icons on the home page video renderers
  • Load HQ thumbnails for Subs & Trending page (by default YT only loads low res thumbnails on subs and trending pages) Not recommended if you use default size thumbnails(subs width: 210px / trending height: 138px)
  • Auto-expand horizontal video containers on channel pages. (by default YT automatically loads only 6 videos no matter how much extra space there is) On 1080p you can turn this off as you won't have enough space to view more than 6 videos at a time anyway.
  • Hide video badges on search result pages Meaning those small things under the video like: NEW/CC/4K etc.

Find the settings in the Tampermonkey menu.
