always under heavy load
This will generally happen at the top of the hour when some scheduled jobs run. The scheduled jobs slow down processing for a minute or two.
The site is configured to allow 100 pending requests at once. If the queue is full, then any further requests will receive this message. The site gets 100 requests per second, so any slowdown quickly fills things up.
I have done some things to help deal with this, but I still have more to do.
There have been no 503 errors for 2 days now. I think I fixed it.
