DuoRain

DuoRain is a userscript that takes care of the repetitive parts of Duolingo for you like grinding XP, farming gems, keeping your streak alive, climbing the leaderboard, and a handful of other things most people don't want to sit there doing by hand.

It runs as a small panel in the corner of the page while you're on duolingo.com. Nothing weird going on behind the scenes, it just talks to the same API your browser already uses when you use the site normally.

Currently in beta, so expect the occasional bug. If Duolingo changes something on their end, things can break until it gets patched.

What it can do

  • XP farming: grind XP toward a specific amount, or just let it run on an infinite loop
  • Gem farming: automatically claims gem rewards as soon as they show up
  • Streak repair: restore missed streak days
  • Auto League: climb to whatever rank you set on the leaderboard, and join a league automatically if you're not in one
  • Quest Center: view your daily/monthly quests and force-complete them instantly
  • Shop: grab shop items (streak freezes, XP boosts, outfits, etc.) for free
  • Social tools: mass follow/unfollow, mass block/unblock your current league, send gifts, start friend streaks or quests with someone
  • Activity feed & leaderboard: see what your friends are up to and check/react on the leaderboard from inside the panel
  • Settings: loop delay, notification position, and toggles to auto-join a league / auto-block your league / auto-climb to a saved rank / auto-keep your streak / auto-save quests every time the page loads. There's also an experimental "unlock Duolingo Max locally" toggle.

The panel remembers where you drag it, follows Duolingo's light/dark theme on its own, and checks GitHub in the background so it can tell you when a new version is out.

Installing

  1. Get a userscript manager Tampermonkey or Violentmonkey, either is fine.
  2. Install DuoRain from Greasy Fork, or grab it straight from the GitHub repo.
  3. Open Duolingo. The panel should show up automatically in the corner.

Things worth knowing

  • This talks to Duolingo's own internal API, but it's still automation, and Duolingo doesn't officially support or endorse anything like this. Use it at your own risk and there's always some chance an account could get flagged for automated activity.
  • Your XP/gem/streak stats on the "Stats" page are stored locally in your browser so it can show you a running total. That data never goes anywhere else.
  • The only outside request the script makes on its own is a quick check against GitHub to see if a new version is available. ## Bugs / feedback

Open an issue on GitHub or drop by the Discord. If something breaks right after a Duolingo update, that's usually the first place a fix gets posted.
