ChatGPT supports ?prompt or ?q= URL parameters. The value is inserted into the prompt input, but ChatGPT deliberately chose not to auto-submit the query for security reasons. This script enables that anyway.

On most browsers you can register ChatGPT as a search engine with https://chatgpt.com/?prompt=%s somewhere in the browser settings, the important bit being %s which is replaced with the URL-encoded search query by the browser. On Vivaldi, you can go to Settings via CTRL + F12, then head over to Search > Search Engine Editor, then add a new search engine with the aforementioned value as URL.
