This script automatically unmutes the video previews on the YouTube homepage when you hover over them.

I don't see why that would be the case as YouTube doesn't really do anything different with those compared to other video previews (at least nothing related to audio volume/muting). The only thing that I found can't be unmuted are playlist previews.
Although I do notice that the 3 dots under the preview that you have are horizontal while my YouTube has them vertical. You might be on a different version of YouTube than me? (this is a thing that YouTube often does) Alternatively you might be using a different language or browser than me, in which case are you willing to provide those information?

I found the problem is that unmute is ineffective if there's no control button in the upper right corner of the preview window. This usually happens with videos that have a music icon.
YouTube does not really make this clear but previews that lack the volume control button do not have audio data and thus cannot be unmuted regardless by script or by hand.
Specifically, YouTube strips away the audio data from those video previews completely and there is nothing left to unmute.
Videos with music icons cannot be unmuteed.
