Forum theme
I have nothing against how that theme (or others) looks, but I'm concerned that a different theme means plugins don't work right.

Well, the theme consists mostly of CSS/LESS, one small and one relatively large js script, so considering the GF forum only uses pretty standard vanilla-forums client-side js afaik, I don't see any potential problems.

It'd be nice to have a per user option to switch forum themes, or at least globally switch the current amorphously looking theme to something clean, modern and easy on the eyes like the actively maintained Vanilla Bootstrap theme, which has 16 color variations, see the attached screenshots for the default theme and one of the dark ones, named "Slate".
