Turkdigo FlicksIO Helper

FlicksIO helper; adds some stuff on Google and IMDb to make searching and submitting (slightly, ever so slightly) less of a problem.

I'm using this 'clickhappier-archive' account to post archival copies of old MTurk-related userscripts from userscripts-mirror.org (which is itself an archive of the defunct site userscripts.org) and forum posts, which their authors or others haven't re-posted on Greasyfork yet. Some of these may no longer be all that interesting as more recent scripts may do what they do better, but some remain very useful.

Script Name: Turkdigo FlicksIO Helper

Last update 02-22-2015 [updated by Turkdigo to 1.2 on 02-24-2015]

Script Summary: This program functions as follows:

As soon as the HIT loads, it automatically opens the first search page. Beside each Google search result is a "Select" button, which you can click if you know the link is right to instantly pick that link. At the head of the Google page I've added the title of the show/movie, and rearranged it to match search results (i.e. "Show" Episode (Season) instead of Episode ("Show", Season) ), and I've also added two buttons below that - "Check IMDb" and "Give Up".

Check IMDb + IMDb Plugins: "Check IMDb" loads the IMDb search results with the Show + Episode already entered. Every IMDb page now had a "Submit this Page" button, a "Give Up" button, and the same title (from Google's title) at the very top of the page. Search results will be displayed with a [Select] button in the same manner as Google's buttons. "Submit this Page" will take whatever page you are on and use that as the link - this means if you can't find the episode you can click this button on the episode list page (or any page as needed). If you find the episode page, you can also click another "Select" beside each episode in the list, and this will keep THAT link. Finally, you can just open the episode page itself (maybe to confirm it's the right one) and then click "Submit this Page".

If you click "Give Up", then the entire page will close out taking you back to the HIT (or whatever page is before the closing tab) where I ADVISE YOU TO RETURN THAT HIT. I did not add a "not available" button specifically because there is always a possibility you just missed it, and rather than risking a rejection, I prefer to just return the entire thing. This means if you click "Give Up" at ANY point, it will break the script. You will not be able to complete that HIT using my script unless you refresh the page (this is because the script starts each time the HIT is loaded).

MAKE SURE YOU TURN IT OFF IF YOU AREN'T DOING FlicksIO HITS! It's not an mturk based script, but it does inject itself into Google and this may cause problems if you're doing other things! Just turn it on and off as needed.

The second page will also automatically load after you pick your first link via button, and once you've picked both you need to click "Inject" on the HIT page to pull in the links, followed by "Submit" (obviously).

Disclaimer: I am not responsible if this script results in you getting rejections or breaks your browser. The reason this HIT takes so long to begin with is because you have to search and confirm links before you submit it, so MAKE SURE YOU'RE SUBMITTING THE RIGHT LINK!

v1.2 changes: Press "s" after grabbing the links when back on the HIT page (you need to click the page again first) to auto-inject and submit your selected answers. Google URLs that are longer than the title page URL are now faded out (but still clickable/selectable). Fixed problem with episodes page not selecting shortened URL (keeping ?= query after URL).

Version: 1 [now 1.2]

Note from Clickhappier: This is a complex script which the author tested in Chrome with Tampermonkey. If you're using a different browser and it's not working for you, try that instead. If you're having trouble passing the FlicksIO qual test, watch their videos and read their instructions document and try again.
